History & Overview
Desert Hot Springs is a geothermal geographic area with about 200 geothermal wells drilled in the area. The hot springs have been used for hundreds of years dating back to the Cahuilla Native Americans long before the early settlers arrived. They referred to the area as “Sec-he” (boiling water).
